Who we are

Holistic thinking makes the difference

We are an international design office oncerned of the global scope of design and of the necessity of integrating different design aspects into projects.

Working as an idea HUB with the latest technological knowledge,  we come up with carefully brooded solutions and develop the whole project, including the construction phase.

HOLISTIC THINKING MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Ho·lis·tic: "adj. emphasizing the importance of the whole and the interdependence of its parts" def by The Free Dictionary

Ho·lism: "noun. a theory that the universe and especially living nature is correctly seen in terms of interacting wholes (as of living organisms) that are more than the mere sum of elementary particles" def by Merriam Webster Dictionary

GLOBAL SCOPE AND CARE FOR DETAILS

InHolD believes in a multidisciplinary approach of design. Design is not only aesthetics or eye-catching shapes, neither should it be exclusively use-focused with rough finishes. Design should integrate the whole, appearance, use, energy usage and social values.

The quality of a project is also reflected on the details. Quality finishes and care for details highly define the style of our work.

InHolD works to create a simple design based on multidisciplinarity, integrating the different design needs in the solution: an Integrated Holistic Design

BEHIND INHOLD

InHolD is run by Marta Sarmiento-Comesías, an enthusiastic and highly motivated chartered civil engineer (PE, Spain), passionate about civil and structural engineering and arts.

'What I love the most about my job is the creative process and thinking ideas and solutions. I strongly believe in holistic design. Hence, the importance of team work. I am especially interested in geometries and the arts-architecture-engineering-nature relationship'.

Marta Sarmiento-Comesías' PhD thesis studies the different geometries of spatial arch bridges with a curved deck and their structural behavior, by means of MEF linear and non-linear analysis.  CV;  linkedIn

InHolD counts with several advisors, amongst which is Prof. Ángel C. Aparicio, supervisor of the aforementioned PhD thesis of Marta Sarmiento-Comesías. He is Full Professor in Bridge Engineering, PE (Spain) in the Department of Construction Engineering of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain. CVPublicatons.
